Welcome to the birthplace of The Boeing Company’s 787 Dreamliner airplane, where perfection is expected of every associate and every contractor. We’ve completed three buildings so far on this campus and often implemented a “whatever it takes” attitude to complete the task (quite often working 7 days a week).
Building 1 – Final Assembly Building. This 1.2 million-square-foot facility is where Boeing performs final assembly on its 787s. It is the largest open span of any building in Boeing’s inventory, spanning the size of 10.5 football fields. Site construction required more than 9,370 workers.
Building 2 – Delivery Center Building. Boeing and its architects wanted a sense of dynamic movement and event with the building, which plays a critical role in creating a memorable experience for customers and visitors. The Center is 57,390 square feet.
Building 3 – Aft Body Fabrication and Assembly Building. Due to production rate increases in the Dreamliner 787 program, this contract more than doubled during construction. The original contract, for example, was for one floor. The client then added a second floor (and a catwalk) with fire-rated glass and framing.
